Before joining our team, André Russel Batoum worked as a trainee lawyer at the Rwandan law firm GMN Law Firm in Kigali.
His expertise was further strengthened through strategic collaborations with various law firms, including Nya & Co., AHEAD – Legal Advisory, Nyemb, and Jacques Bassong. His career path also includes experience within major companies in the energy sector: he notably joined the Regulation and Special Projects Unit of the Legal Affairs Department at Eneo Cameroon, before moving to the Legal Department of the Société Camerounaise des Dépôts Pétroliers (SCDP). These roles enabled him to develop an in-depth understanding of the legal issues in the hydrocarbons sector.
His cross-cutting background allows him to assist our clients in both advisory and litigation matters relating to electricity regulation, arbitration, corporate governance, and public procurement.
André Russel Batoum holds a Master’s degree in International Transport Law and Litigation from the University of Douala, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development in Rwanda, and a University Diploma in the Law of Distressed Companies from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
He is fluent in both French and English.
